Please help Mama Zipporah in her fight against cancer.
Mama Zipporah was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, in 2019. In the year after her diagnosis, complications of Mama’s illness required her to travel to India for treatment. First, surgery was required to correct the damage done to her spine by the disease. Then a few months later, Mama returned to India to have a bone marrow transplant. After her recovery, Mama Zipporah and her Huruma family celebrated the amazing news that Mama was in remission!
Several months ago, however, during one of her regular checkups, Mama was given the news that her bloodwork showed that she had slipped out of remission and needed to begin treatment once again. Mama will require regular chemotherapy in order to keep the cancer from spreading and to prevent worsening of symptoms such as bone pain, kidney damage, anemia, etc. She will require supportive care as well, such as oral medications, dietary supplements, physical therapy, and additional staff coverage to help with her needs.
Mama Zipporah is the heart of Huruma. Your generosity will help her continue to lead the home as she builds up the leadership team that will take Huruma into the future.
